HyeFighter Gegard Mousasi Submits Obrien in 31 Seconds of Round 1

It didn’t take long for HyeFighter Gegard Mousasi to get back to his winning ways.  31 seconds in the first round was all it took.  Below is a play by play of what happened:

Round 1: O’Brien immediately shoots and Mousasi sprawls. O’Brien grabs one leg and continues to work for the finish. Mousasi grabs the guillotine, and that’s all for O’Brien.

Official time is 31 seconds.

This fight between Gegard Mousasi vs. Jake O’Brien, was a catchweight bout on tonight’s Dream event from the Saitama Supera Arena in Saitama, Japan.

Originally scheduled for light heavyweight, O’Brien failed to make weight and enters this fight with an automatic yellow card and a 10 percent purse deduction.

With this win, Gegard Mousasi will now face Tatsuya Mizuno, who submitted Melvin Manhoef, for the Dream Light Heavyweight championship.
