Dmitry Pirog remains in possession of the WBO middleweight belt after stopping HyeFighter challenger Gennady Martirosyan in Krasnodar, Russia.
The 31 year-old was on top throughout the contest and never looked like losing his title in his second defense. The end arrived after he gave the former Russian champion, Martirosyan, a tough time in the tenth round and the challenger’s corner pulled him out.
Pirog improves his record to 19-0 with his 15th stoppage as Martirosyan, 31, is left to contemplate his third loss in six years as a pro.
