HyeFighter Martirosyan Makes Short Work Of Lowry
In a clash for the WBC silver super welterweight title, unbeaten former Olympian HyeFighter Vanes Martirosyan (32-0, 20 KOs) took apart Troy Lowry (27-12, 15 KOs). Martirosyan dropped Lowry with a left hook to the body in the first round. Even though Lowry was able to answer the standing eight count, Martirosyan continued the attack throughout the remaining two minutes of round number one. Lowry developed a deep cut over the left brow of his eye in the second round due to continuous shots by the Nightmare. Martirosyan hurt Lowry in the third round as he connected with a straight right hand which sent him to his knees. Once again Lowry got up but was put into the ropes as Martirosyan fired away with combinations. Referee Laurence Cole put a halt to the bout at the 2:53 mark of the third round.
