Former three time world champion HyeFighter Vic Darchinyan (38-5, 27KOs) added another Championship Belt to his collection as he scored a dominant unanimous decision victory over a very tough Luis Orlando Del Valle (16-1, 11KOs) to claim the vacant NABF super bantamweight title.
Scores of the bout were 99-91, 99-91 and 96-94 in an all action slugfest of a bout. Darchinyan out landed Del Valle and dominated him with his stalking style and powerful punching. He slipped away from many of Del Valle’s punches and was able to pick his shots and counter on many exchanges which was the difference that gave Darchinyan the nod.
Del Valle may have been lulled into thinking that Darchinyan was past his prime, as he came into the fight having lost his last two bouts. However, Darchinyan was far from over the hill as Del Valle found out the hard way. Del Valle tried to go toe-to-toe with Darchinyan in the fight, and he simply didn’t have the game to make that kind of fight. Del Valle was way in over his head, as he had never fought anyone even close to Darchinyan’s talent and he just looked lost out there against for the most part.
Darchinyan fought really well in the 7th with a lot of his big left hand power shots hitting Del Valle in the head.
